CHANTILLY, Va., Nov. 28, 2011 — Citizant congratulates Foster Henderson and other members of the DHS Cybersecurity Communications Working Group (CCWG) for receiving the ISC2 2011 Government Information Security Leadership Award, in the category of Community Awareness.
The Community Awareness award recognizes an individual or team within the U.S. federal information security arena who have significantly contributed to building or broadening security awareness within the federal workforce in the last 12 months.
Henderson, who is senior Information Assurance engineer with Citizant, and the rest of the CCWG were honored during a GISLA gala dinner held this fall in Washington, D.C.
The CCWG within the DHS Office of the Chief Information Security Officer, led by cybersecurity strategy communications manager Joel Benge, provides a central coordination point for strategic security awareness. Since late 2009, the CCWG has collaborated on an integrated cybersecurity communications strategy, developed common terminology and core messages for cross-departmental communications and responded to a multitude of security incidents.
ISC2 is the world’s largest not-for-profit information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP® program. Since 2004, the ISC ² Government Information Security Leadership Awards program has been recognizing the ongoing commitment by federal information security leaders to build a highly qualified workforce. In 2010, the program was broadened to include award categories beyond information security workforce improvement in order to recognize outstanding initiatives in the areas of technology, policy and community awareness. |
