Cairo Corp., one of the capital area’s fastest-growing
providers of business and technical solutions to civilian and
military government organizations, announced today it has changed
its name to Citizant Inc. Citizant also announced the opening
of two new offices in the Greater Washington area and the signing
of a lease pursuant to moving its headquarters, all to accommodate
anticipated growth.
Citizant is a leading provider of enterprise architecture,
program management and application development services for
the federal, state and local government.
According to co-founder and CEO Raymond Roberts, the new brand
identity will allow the company to increase its visibility and
support strategic growth. “As we enter our ninth year,”
said Roberts, “we feel the time is right to align our
brand positioning with our organization’s passion for
supporting our customer’s primary mission—service
to the citizen. The name Citizant uniquely reflects how personally
we take that commitment.”
The company’s growth plans are being fueled by new assignments
from existing customers in Q1 and anticipated assignments in
Q2, including a new task order for Phase II implementation of
the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s National
Housing Locator System as well as additional work from the U.S.
Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center and the
Federal Railroad Administration.
“We’re proud to be helping our customers tackle
some of the biggest challenges facing the nation today,”
said co-founder and president Alba M. Alemán. “The
importance of finding timely and cost-effective solutions to
meet those challenges, and what that means to the citizen, is
what drives our team’s commitment to the quality of the
work we deliver.”
To tackle its new assignments, Citizant is seeking to fill
20 new job openings in the areas of information technology,
engineering and project management. Some of these positions
will be at the newly opened offices at the Mark Center in Alexandria,
Va., and on M Street, NW, in Washington, D.C. By the end of
2007, Citizant plans to hire an additional 50 employees, nearly
a 50 percentage growth in personnel.
This growth follows the recent additions of new senior executives
at Citizant. Last month, the company announced the hiring of
AOL and Redgate veteran Bruce Milligan as vice president of
marketing. In December, it announced the hiring of a former
president of Bowhead Support Services, Bill Breighner, as division
president of its newly launched Government and Defense Solutions
Division.
