Team chosen for five-year assignment on Intelligent Transportation Systems

CHANTILLY, Va., April 22, 2008 — Citizant, one of the Washington region’s fastest-growing providers of government professional technical solutions, has been awarded a $14 million contract over a period of five years by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to provide technical and management support services for the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office.

Citizant’s team, which has supported the ITS program for more than 10 years, will provide program management, software programming, systems analysis and engineering, and general administrative and technical support for a variety of program tasks. The contract covers a base year plus four option years.

The ITS program, now located within the USDOT’s Research and Innovative Technology Administration, focuses on two major components of an advanced national transportation system:  intelligent vehicles and intelligent infrastructure, as well as the integration between these two components.  Federal investments under ITS are directed at major initiatives that can potentially improve safety, mobility and productivity for citizens and commercial transporters throughout the country.

Citizant’s other engagements in the transportation sector include enterprise architecture, business process modeling services, and acquisition and performance-based contracting support for the Federal Railroad Administration.
