| Experienced government solutions executive joins leading IT firm to support homeland security
CHANTILLY, Va., Dec. 1, 2011 — Citizant, a leader in business transformation and information-sharing solutions for national security and federal law enforcement agencies, has hired Van Kirstein as a director of business development. Kirstein, who has 14 years of experience supporting federal, state and local government IT programs, will be responsible for generating growth for Citizant throughout the Department of Homeland Security.

Kirstein spent five years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services as the DHS sales team lead. He was responsible for HP's corporate strategy regarding DHS and for opening new accounts within DHS. Kirstein’s major accomplishments include selling one of the five largest federal government contracts in EDS/HPES history, as well as selling $1.1 billion in total contract value in a five-year period. He also previously held management positions at Pearson Government Solutions, Sapient Corporation and Impact Innovation Group, LLC.
