Citizant's Fiona Barshow Elected to IJIS Institute Board of Directors

Exec from leading IT firm to support public-private partnership to drive information-sharing across the justice, public safety and homeland security communities

CHANTILLY, Va., Aug. 24, 2011 Citizant, a leader in business transformation and information-sharing solutions for national security and federal law enforcement agencies, today announced that its vice president of business development, Fiona Barshow, has been elected to the IJIS Institute board of directors.

“We are very pleased to have Fiona join our board of directors,” said Glenn Archer, executive director of the IJIS Institute. “We believe her strong background in government IT and her extensive involvement with the IJIS Institute over the past several years will allow her to make a significant contribution to the board and the Institute, particularly as we continue to advance our mission of improving information sharing.”

Barshow was introduced as part of the new IJIS Institute’s board at the organization’s summer Industry Briefing held in Jersey City, N.J., July 29-30. She has been a senior member of Citizant’s business development team since 2008, playing an important part in supporting the company’s expanding base of federal customers in the areas of public safety, national security and law enforcement with innovative, quality IT solutions.

“Fiona has played a key role in helping Citizant deliver high-quality information technology solutions to customers throughout the government law enforcement community,” said Paul Bize, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at Citizant. “We believe she will be a great asset to the IJIS Institute as it continues to improve mission-critical information sharing and find new ways to further advance information sharing at all levels throughout the federal law enforcement community.”

“I’m honored to be a part of the important work that the IJIS Institute is doing to support the justice, public safety and homeland security communities and develop innovative solutions to ultimately protect our citizens,” said Barshow.

The IJIS Institute is a nonprofit organization that joins forces with member companies to unite the private and public sectors for improving mission-critical information sharing. The IJIS Institute is the only national organization that brings together industry and government in an effort to improve national security and promote effective information sharing across all levels of the justice, public safety and law enforcement communities.
