Citizant Selected by Booz Allen Hamilton for U.S. Treasury’s Mentor-Protege Program

Three-year agreement will focus on business development and
information assurance capabilities

CHANTILLY, Va., January 22, 2010 — Citizant, one of the Washington region’s leading providers of professional technical solutions and strategic consulting services to the federal government, today announced it has been selected by Booz Allen Hamilton to participate in the U.S. Treasury’s Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP).

Treasury’s MPP encourages larger, established federal contractors to select and mentor smaller, up-and-coming contractors, to enhance certain capabilities critical to the protégé’s success at supporting Treasury’s mission.

During the 3-year relationship, Booz Allen will help Citizant advance its business development capabilities and will work with Citizant to mature its Information Assurance (IA) marketing and delivery capabilities.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to work with and learn from the industry-leading experts at Booz Allen Hamilton,” said Alba M. Alemán, president of Citizant.  “Through this partnership with Booz Allen, we will leverage Citizant’s technology program management and business consulting work at the Internal Revenue Service to deliver greater value for other Treasury offices and bureaus.  We look forward to developing new agency relationships with our counterparts at Booz Allen and creating innovative IA solutions that will improve operational excellence and national security at Treasury and other federal agencies.”

“We look forward to working collaboratively with Citizant to support their continued growth as a small business,” said Mark Gamis,  Principal at Booz Allen.  “Their recognized expertise in enterprise architecture, information assurance, and data management, as well as their strong track record supporting critical IRS initiatives, will be a great complement to the solutions that Booz Allen is helping the IRS develop to tackle their most serious business challenges.”

Citizant has worked with the IRS on programs ranging from enterprise software development life cycle program management to Lean/Six Sigma consulting related to taxpayer communication process effectiveness.  Booz Allen currently provides support to all federal finance and treasury organizations charged with the collection, management, and protection of the nation’s financial system.
