Manassas, Va., May 1, 2003 - Alba Alemán, Founder, President, and CEO of Cairo Corporation, was honored with the 2003 NFWL Latina Leadership of the Year Award at the National Foundation for Women Legislator's annual Women Lawmakers' Networking Day on May 1st and 2nd in Washington, D.C. Four hundred political and corporate leaders were in attendance along with several members of Congress and state legislators to recognize Ms. Alemán for outstanding achievements within her community at the May 1st Congressional Reception on Capitol Hill.

Through annual educational and networking events, NFWL supports women who dare to break through the legislative glass ceiling. As a non-profit, non-partisan organization, NFWL does not take ideological positions on public policy issues, but rather serves as a forum for women legislators to be empowered through information and experience.
